What courses do you offer?

Greenwich London College (GLC) offers professional courses leading to degrees in the areas of Business Management, Travel, Tourism and Hospitality, Accountancy and Finance, Human Resources, Computing and Information Technology (IT).  Greenwich London College also offers English Language courses and short courses.

 

What are the minimum entry requirements to study at GLC?

Please refer to the section on courses, where you will find entry requirements for various courses.

 

Do I need to take an English language test?

Yes, all international students must satisfy English language requirements and demonstrate competence in the English language. Please refer to GLC English language requirements page for more details.

 

When do courses start?

BCS courses commence in January and June each year and ACCA and ABE courses commence in February and August each year. Please contact college admission office for exam commencement dates.

 

Does GLC offer any scholarships?

Yes, we do offer a very limited number of scholarships. GLC students who score the highest marks in any module examined by the ACCA, IMIS, BCS or ABE, will be awarded a 50% tuition fee scholarship for one year of their study at GLC upon reenrolment on the same course or a new course.

 

Is it possible to get an exemption from one or more modules in my course?

Yes, it is possible to get an exemption from one or more modules, provided you meet the exemption criteria set by your professional body. Exemptions are dependent upon previous qualifications and work experience. You should apply to the relevant professional body with evidence of these. The professional body will then decide whether or not you are eligible for an exemption(s).

 

What do I have to do to attend professional bodies' exams?

You need to apply to be a student member of the relevant professional body and register for their examinations by the due date. Greenwich London College can provide you with the necessary assistance. Once the professional body has received your application, they will send you proof of student membership and details of your examinations by post or email. Please allow a few weeks to receive these.

 

Is your college registered and accredited with different professional bodies?

Yes, GLC is registered with and accredited by the professional bodies, ACCA, ABE, IMIS, IFA, IAB and BCS. Registration and accreditation is necessary in order to run their courses.

 

Is your college recognised by the UK Boarder Agency?

Yes, absolutely. Greenwich London College is accredited by ASIC and licenced by the UK Boarder Agency to sponsor overseas students under Tier 4 point based system. For further information, please visit www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk.

 

Can I extend my student visa whilst studying at your college?

Yes, as long as you meet the UK Boarder Agency requirements. Greenwich London College is UK Boarder Agency licenced institute under tier 4 of the point based system. it is registered with and accredited by all the relevant bodies, you are eligible to apply for and extend your student visa if you meet all criteria.

 

How do I apply to GLC?

You can apply online, by post, fax or by visiting our campus personally. We will respond to you as soon as possible after receiving your application, normally within a week.

 

Can I apply for a student visa from overseas after being accepted by your college?

Yes, you can apply for a student visa from overseas, once accepted by GLC. You must choose the course you wish to study and complete the application process, including payment of your course fees. We will then issue you with a visa letter and other necessary documents. Students applying for entry clearance should apply with all necessary documents to the British Embassy/High Commission.

How much will it cost to study at GLC?

Please refer to our Fees Schedule. Apart from the College fees, you must pay membership and examination fees to your professional body. In addition, living expenses in London for a single student is likely to be in the range of £600(outside London and £800 (inside London) per month according to the Bristish Council guidances.

 

How can I pay college fees from overseas?

You can forward your college fees by international bank transfer into the college's account. Alternatively, your friends or relatives can pay your fees on your behalf by visiting the college.

 

Can I pay my fees in installments?

You may be able to pay your second year's fees in installments. You must pay at least half of your tuition fee in advance before you enrol. The balance can then be paid in three equal installments over the first three months of your course. If applying for a student visa, you are required to pay a year’s fee in advance.

 

Can I pay fees by debit/credit cards?

Yes, we accept all major debit/credit cards, except American Express and Diners. Credit/Debit card mapyments are only accepted if paid in person in the College. We are unable to take payment over phone or online.

 

Will I get my tuition fees back, if my visa application is unsuccessful?

Yes, provided you submit a written request four weeks before commencement, your tuition fees will be refunded if you are unsuccessful in obtaining a student visa, except for a £150 non-refundable administration charge. You must submit the original fees receipt (photocopies or fax are not acceptable), original visa letter issued by GLC, a copy of the photo and signature page of your passport and an original copy of the official visa refusal letter issued by the relevant British High Commission/Embassy or Home Office. The college may verify the authenticity of the visa refusal letter, if deemed necessary.The college will not consider refund request received after the course commenced for whatever reason.

 

How long will it take to process my Application for admission?

Greenwich London College respects the value of your time. We have well-trained and experienced administrative staff. Admission formalities can usually be completed on the day you apply if all necessary documents are submitted. This may be extended during periods of heavy demand.

 

Can I work whilst studying at the college?

Immigration regulations allow overseas students to work 20 hours a week during term time and full time during vacations. However, you can not expect to earn enough to pay for your fees and living expenses by working and studying. You should make arrangement to finance your course fees and living expenses for the duration of your course in the UK before you travel.
